Full disclosure: I used to experiment with exactly this construction with "ijo ni". But for the sake of simplicity, I found that "ijo pi ijo ni" is OK:

-> jan ala li toki e ijo pi ijo ni tawa mi tan seme?
-> tan seme la jan ala li toki e ijo pi ijo ni tawa mi?
