Después de examinar múltiples veces la oración sigo teniendo dudas de cuál es la forma más natural de traducirla. Si mencionase el "tu" por algún lado sin duda pero parece más bien como una máxima empleada para explicar que las dotes de mando se obtienen siendo mandados. No tendría ningún inconveniente en reformarla con imperativo, aunque la oración original no lo está o bien introduciendo "aprendes a mandar". Quizá depende mucho del contexto donde fuese pronunciada. Cualquier otra opinión será escuchada.

O hasta podrías invertir la frase: "Aprende a mandar a través de la obediencia."

Sigo con dudas sobre la forma de mejorar el enunciado pero si te doy razón que al revés se ve más natural; por ello, la modifico.
