There can be life without electricity...
All living things produce electric fields. Without electricity (electric charge), our cells would not be able to communicate with each other. :)
Is that normally referred to as "electricity?"
The scientific community prefers 'electric charge' now, but I have definitely heard 'electricity' used in its stead, especially in the context of neuroscience, particularly in laymen videos of neuron intercommunication.
