"shipping" is about sending goods, are you sure that "veturi" doesn't imply travel by people?

Good question. My source is the "International Business Dictionary in 9 languages" First of all it defines SHIPPING COMPANY-"uses ships for navigation and for that purpose it sails them by names of captains in its service. It need not be the owner of the ships."
de Reedereigeschäft
es Casa armadora; copañia naviera
fr maison d'armement; société d'armateurs
it cmpagnia di navigazione
ne rederij
po companhia de navegação
swe rederi (-et)

I have a feeling that in English we might be confusing "shipping company" with "shipping agent" -ekspedisto- expéditeur.

so I think, at least, you should create the variants for "ekspedisto" as I did in French with "expéditionnaire" which is the correct name for companies that ship goods around, whether by ship or any other transportation mean...

Done. Thank-you.

I realise that I had misread you and I checked in my own Business dictionary and you're right, so my translation in French as "expéditionnaire" is wrong. I will unlink it.
Forget about my former comment, sorry!

Dejo Dejo October 28, 2010 October 28, 2010 at 5:24:23 PM UTC link Permalink

Can you then link my "ekspedisto" to your "expéditionnnaire"?

sacredceltic sacredceltic October 28, 2010 October 28, 2010 at 5:25:15 PM UTC link Permalink

so our comments crossed...
I linked my French "expéditionnaire" to you "..ekspedisto" and unlinked it from "...shipping company"
Now, yours to assess if you keep the link with the English or create a new "...shipping agent"

Dankon!
