The Russian has the present tense.

The sentence is famous because it includes every letter in the English language. In order for this to be the case it has to be "THE quick brown fox" not "A quick brown fox".

The pangram tag should be removed since this is not actually a pangram.

It *is* a pangram, in that it uses every letter of the alphabet at least once. It is not a *perfect pangram*, since it uses some letters more than once.

Ah, "right" makes it a pangram. I didn't notice that. (If you just take the standard version and change "the" to "a" then it doesn't work.)

@CK: You forgot the period. Also, I'd suggest changing it back, since it was a perfectly correct sentence, even a pangram with the addition of "right".
