Jes Susan estas ino, sed oni povas diri aŭ "kuiristo" aŭ "kuiristino" La sufikso "in" ne estas deviga. Fakte ĝi povas kaŭzi ambiguecon. Se mi diras "Susan estas la plej bona kuiristino", ĉu tio signifas ke inter la inoj ŝi estas la plej bona, aŭ inter ĉiuj kuiristoj/kuiristinoj ŝi estas la plej bona.

Do uzi vorton kuiriston donas al la frazo pli ĝeneralan signifon, laŭ mi tio estas iom ambigua, konsiderinte, ke nomo Susan ne havas evidentan in-formon.

Kiam estas ambigueco, prefere oni precizigu la "in"econ.
"Ŝi estas kuiristo" estas klara.
"Susan estas kuiristo" estas malpli klara.
Aŭ oni povas skribi "Susan lertas en kuirado"

Mi konsentas kun Dejo kaj ankaŭ preferas "kuiristo".
Estas vero, ke nomo ne ĉiam komprenigas, pri kiu sekso temas.
Sed ĉu la sekso ĉiam gravas?
