ähm - soweit ich sehen kann hat das Esperanto hier doch keinen Artikel, da könntest Du doch ungestraft "ist Arzt" schreiben. Das wäre doch klassisch und einwandfrei. Schönen Sonntag auch, wenn er kommt. (Und zieht Dich warm an!)

Wenn im Esperanto der bestimmte Artikel fehlt, bedeutet das, dass es der unbestimmte Artikel ist!!!!

nochmal ähm: Bedeutet das nicht, dass man bei Übersetzungen den unbestimmten Artikel setzen kann oder auch nicht?

Herr Brown ist Arzt: das kommt mir fürs Deutsche eben gerade typisch vor - im Gegensatz zum Englischen beispielsweise (Mr Brown is a doctor), wo der unbestimmte Artikel bei Berufsbezeichnungen obligatorisch ist.

Schon, schon. Bleibt nur die Frage, ob das sprachschlamperisches Weglassen ist, oder ob man Esperanto richtig übersetzt.

Die Frage ist doch eher, wie man sich (ganz unabhängig von der Esperantovorlage) ausdrücken würde, wenn man sagen will, dass Herr B. - nun ja - Arzt oder ein Arzt ist.
Ich würde auch nur "Arzt" sagen, "ein Arzt" finde ich aber auch nicht falsch, es hat für mich einen umgangssprachlichen Einschlag.
Wenn du da normalerweise "ein Arzt" sagst, ist es ja ok. Wenn du es nur wegen Esperanto schreibst, dann ist es nicht ganz ok.

Miaopinie, "Herr Brown ist Arzt." estas la ĝusta
traduko de "Sinjoro Brown estas kuracisto."

- - sed "Herr Brown ist ein Schuft/Schatz."

Mi kredas ke la uzo de "..ist ein Arzt/ ..er en læge" estas
anglismo.

Dann kann man ja ungestraft als weitere Übersetzung "Herr Brown ist Arzt" eingeben. Was dagegen?

(übrigens warum nicht Herr Braun? - oder Mr Brown? - Nun ja, vielleicht sollten wir die Sache nicht noch komplizierter machen.)
