Sprichst du bei Elefanten tatsächlich von ihren Nasen? Ich würde in jedem Fall Rüssel sagen.

Dieser Satz ist eine Übersetzung des englischen Satzes, "An elephant has a long nose".
"nose"= "Nase"
"trunk"= Rüssel.

Hier ist auch ein Zitat aus der deutschen Wikipedia:
Ein Rüssel ist eine verlängerte Nase mit Nasenlöchern (Rüsselloch)."

Lange gute Nase: Elefanten haben extrem guten Geruchssinn - Focus

Kinderliteratur wäre auch zu empfehlen☺
