Shouldn't this be, "Please call a taxi for this lady"? This implies that the lady is a taxi.

It's okay, IMO:

"Call me a taxi" = "Call a taxi for me"

IMO, this sentence is quite uncommon, not like the "Call me a taxi" one. I don't know, need to verify it with someone who has experience with this. Well, I never hear people say that though.

Well, maybe its okay, but it might be confusing.

It's the same grammatical structure in both cases.

Hmm, I realised that this is from the Tanaka Corpus. And the link you showed is for "Call her a taxi". I tried finding, "Call this lady a taxi" and it returned the same sentences from the Tanaka Corpus.

So, I think I'll just add another interpretation for this in the meanwhile.

(If you can say "call her a taxi", you can say "call this lady a taxi".)
