Der Sinn dieses Satzes ist mir nicht klar. Was ist damit gemeint?
(Der englische Ausgangssatz erscheint mir seinerseits eine zweifelhafte Übersetzung zu sein).

"must not" ist "darf nicht" auf deutsch. Ich empfehle folgende Übersetzung: Dieses Problem darf man nicht kurzerhand abtun.

Ganz happy bin ich mit der Korrektur nicht, Esperantostern, denn deine neue Version käme von "brush under the carpet". Ich sehe da doch einen semantischen Unterschied. "dismiss" suggeriert eher ein Abprallen lassen. Think about it.

Nach weiterem Brüten kam folgendes Ergebnis aus dem Ei gekrochen: "dismiss out of hand" = "einfach zurückweisen"
