This English is fine, but in my view it doesn't really match the Japanese. If it were me, I would say this.
"I find Italian food very appetizing."
Using the word "desirable" sounds, to my ears, like a way of describing a good choice. Suppose you're catering, or choosing a menu for your work party. Then you might say this.
"Hmm, what should we order for the lunch buffet? I find Italian food very desirable. You know, everyone likes to eat spaghetti. Plus, it's cheap."
