I'm not sure if "for" is the best choice here.
I don't know how to say it if the person is not leaning biology anymore (maybe this is still ok, maybe not).

Some use Simple Past Tense instead of Present Perfect Simple in US.Normally we should say; He has dedicated....... if the action is in progress, if finished we say he dedicated.......
