English quirk: We sometimes use the present progressive when we mean simple future.
So here :
"I'm basing my story on my childhood" <=> "I'm going to base my story on my childhood"
is that right ?
But then, it can also be understood as : "I'm currently basing my story on my childhood" depending on the context, right ?
I think I've heard this kind of sentences in movies and such, but in negative form, like "I'm not eating there ever again !".
Nice sentence !
That's right. It can be used in both positive and negative form.
