I find both the English and Japanese sentences confusing. Regarding the English sentence: Do the two instances of the word 'design' refer to the same design or to different designs? If the two instances of the word 'design' refer to the same design, the one long English sentence should equal the two short sentences: (1) 'The finishing touch to the logo design was a novel arched shape' and (2) 'The finishing touch gave the logo design a dynamism and impact it lacked without them'. (If the two instances of the word 'design' refer to different designs, the long sentence is unintelligible. Or, so it seems to me.)
If the above two short sentences are correct, then combining them should result in a sentence like: 'The finishing touch to the logo design was a novel arched shape which gave the design a dynamism and impact that it lacked without them'.
Assuming the sentence in the immediately preceding paragraph is correct, the Japanese sentence should be rewritten accordingly.
