Should this sentence really be linked to ”Jag har byggt ett nytt hus.”?
No, not really. The normal Swedish translation would be "Jag byggde ett nytt hus". The uses of present perfect tense are very much similar in Finnish and Swedish. On the other hand, the German translation "Ich habe ein neues Haus gebaut" seems OK to me because "ich habe gebaut" is really used this way. I don't know who linked the sentences but I'll delink them.
Both translations (byggde, har byggt) could be be possible in some contexts.
I thought so too! I don’t speak German though, so I cannot say anything about that. :)
