En ik zou ook graag willen weten of er een verschil is tussen "schijnen" en "lijken".
Kan je hier ook zeggen: Dat lijkt defect te zijn. ?

Lijkt is hier beter op zijn plaats, lijkt mij.
Ik heb het niet opgezocht, maar zoals ik het aanvoel, is lijken meer iets wat ik zelf zie, en schijnen iets waar ik over gehoord heb. Maar de woorden worden door elkaar gebruikt.
