Well, sounds good... I am not a sea fan, and such vocabulary is always figurative anyway. Is "washed upon the rocks" more like the waves moved over the rocks? Or, maybe, they flowed right into rocks and shattered in splashes ("волны разбивались о валуны")? There are different variants: разбивались о валуны, бились о валуны, накатывали на валуны, плескались о валуны (which is directly about that "lapping" process) and so on.
