@NNC: Following a discussion on different sentence, FeuDRenais raised the issue whether certain tags should be placed on this sentence.[1]
Specifically, he mentioned that he considers it non-standard. I do think this sentence form is standard while not terribly common and may well be considered terse by many. I'm tagging this @NNC in case that might bring views from others on whether there are any specific tags that may be useful to users of this corpus.

It sounds strange to me. I would also consider it non-standard. If anything, it's much more common than it is standard.

“Whose is this one?”
“whose is that? ”

It sounds fine to me. I wouldn't consider it non-standard at all, as it's a construction I use. The sense I get is that the emphasis is on *that*. A specific notebook out of several perhaps.

Interesting. I would say the exact opposite. "Whose notebook is that" emphasizes "that" to me, and this emphasizes "notebook" (as opposed to other objects that one might be pointing at).
And yet from another perspective!
To me, this form actually emphasizes "is".
"Whose IS that notebook?"
