What is the difference with the next Japanese sentence? English and German don't match...
German says "Physics is an essential science of nature"

No difference, really.

It should be 'fundamental' rather than 'essential' going by the Japanese.

Yes, but what about "nature" ? "Physics is...physical science" is a tautology...
