The expression "水入らず" relates to closely related people coming together, with the exclusion of others. Although this has a feeling of "blood is thicker than water", it also particularly where there is a romantic connection might also have the feeling of "nothing can come between us". Since the Japanese contains the "夫婦" word for man and wife, the translation given here is more literal than that of "it is nice to be by ourselves", although the feeling expressed is essentially of the same type, that of intimacy between a man and wife. This translation however, also stresses the bond and strong connection between a man and wife.
