She was impatient for him to return.
I don't think the Japanese matches the English. What do you think?
Seems OK to me. Google Translate agrees: "She couldn't wait for him to come back."
待ちきれない - "waiting impatiently for".
I just feel 待ちきれなかった implies some action because she couldn't wait.
I expect the next action like 彼女はいてもたってもいられず彼を迎えに行った。
That is my personal thought, though.
