je pense aussi qu'ils le peuvent, mais la phrase anglaise parle d'un contre-exemple ;). que pensent les Japonais ;)?

Si si ils nagent bien les chiens, en japonais on appelle leur façon de nager "inukaki".

En France, on dit : "Les chiens savent nager". Il n'est pas naturel de d'employer le verbe pouvoir.
