Je ne suis pas sûr de comprendre votre question.

Je ne crois pas que Mahomet soit le "nom" le plus connu au monde. Je pense que cette affirmation concerne effectivement uniquement les prénoms...

oui...c'est délicat, parce que d'un côté, "connu" est plus exact, mais "répandu" est ce que l'on dit le plus naturellement dans ce cas...
Je propose que vous ajoutiez la variante et je préfère garder la mienne.

J'ai en effet fait 2 traductions légèrement différentes "dans le monde /au monde" à partir de l'anglais puis de l'espéranto.
"common" est encore une autre variante différente de "connu" et "répandu". Je pense qu'il ne faut pas vouloir trop classer toutes ces nuances assez légères, et je suis d'avis de les laisser ensemble. Ça permet de les voir plus ou moins groupées. Autrement elles seraient dans des isolats qu'on serait incapable de comparer...
Je suis partisan des séparations quand les différences sont plus substantielles (sous-traduction / sur-traduction, ...)
