L'or est plus lourd que le fer tout simplement ?
Ca me parait plus naturel.

Plus logique serait : L'or est un métal plus dense que le fer.

@quazel j'ai ajouté ta suggestion, tu peux l'adopter (si tu le souhaites) http://tatoeba.org/fre/sentences/show/962733

perso, naturellement je dirais "est un métal plus dense que" mais ca n'engage bien entendu que moi. si les autres francophones pensent tous que c'est moins naturel, on fera en sorte de supprimer la phrase.

Non non, ça ne sert à rien de la supprimer si il y a déja la phrase qu'on juge plus naturelle et qu'elle est tout de même correcte :)
