I grew up in Ukraine. Despite both Russian and Ukrainian being my native languages, I use Russian most of the time. My Russian is stronger than Ukrainian, however I feel comfortable with both.

I've been living in Canada since 2004, so I am competent in English and French.

Two years spent in Germany gave me a wonderful opportunity to learn German. I was fluent in this language at a time. Some conversational skills have been lost over the past few years, but no more than that. I am still very confident of my German knowledge.

Two years ago I attended a Japanese school where I aquired a basic knowledge of this language. There was a similar story with Italian, but much earlier, when I was a student. This allows me to read and understand the sentences in these two languages, but only occasionally translate.

I am software developer (programmer) by profession. Llinguistics and foreign languages are my hobby. The languages I am the most interested to learn are Japanese and Turkish.
