Is the tag "OK" necessary? As far as we have "Horus" which merge duplicate sentences (and also our "eyes"), I wonder if it's necessary or can be eliminated.

What do you mean? Horus could merge two bad sentences as well. It doesn't guarantee anything. Besides, I think each good sentence should have this tag, it's never bad to have a double check. O bom nunca é de mais.

By the way, Horus hasn't been functioning since July: https://tatoeba.org/ces/contrib.../of_user/Horus
I hope our team will be able to fix it.

It was reported 2 months ago:

But unfortunately Horus is still sick in bed.

That debate is not new :)

What came out is, simply put, everybody is free to favor the system he prefers.
My personal point of view is that no "approval system" is fundamentally needed but it may helps or guide some people so why not.

If a non-native owns a sentence, it is important to know whether or not it is correct and worth learning. Here, both the OK tag and the rating system are very useful.

You're right that the rating system offers many advantages, but as it isn't activated by default and many may not even know it exists while everyone can see tags, the OK is still useful as well. I always use both.

By the way, the misname "collections" has been rendered fittingly as "Bewertungen" (= ratings) in the German user interface. ☺

Could this misnomer be fixed? It seems as if it ought to be. Low-hanging fruit, and all that.
