The sentence sounds correct as is, and it is easy to understand what it means, and it means what it says.
But for some reason, it doesn't sound to me like a sentence that anyone would actually say in real life.
The earliest link is to the Japanese sentence, and I think that your translation is an accurate, if literal, translation; but not a colloquial one.
May I please suggest that you add a new, alternate translation, such as, "I'd like coffee rather than tea, please."
