書き言葉の文体ではぼくも「を」をつけます。また「ひげを剃ったことはある？」だったら「を」があっても構わないと感じます。
「ある？」の前の助詞が省略されていて「を」があるのが不自然な感じがするのです。

グーグルは疑問符を無視してしまうので困りものなのですが、例えば以下の検索結果で動詞の直前に「を」がどれくらい含まれているかをご覧になるといいでしょう。

I think this sentence is likely to be taken as a complaint or a suggestion.
To avoid this risk, we need to somehow show that it's only a question, not a complaint.
To obey the grammer a little bit stricter than usual is one of the ways.
Not everyone do the same thing and it's OK, still I do make such kind of effort to avoid misunderstanding.
I guess other languages have the same trend.

Your version is totally correct and quite natural as well, so you can add it as an alternative sentence.
In my opinion, as far as they are all correct and natural, we don't have to choose just one.
