Is "calling" a correct translation of 伺う?

To call on someone = To visit someone
See sense (3)
伺う 【うかがう】 (v5u,vt)
(1) (hum) to visit; to ask; to inquire; to hear; to be told; (v5u)
(2) to implore (a god for an oracle); to seek direction (from your superior); (v5u,vi)
(3) (hum) to visit;
(4) (from 御機嫌を伺う) to speak to (a large crowd at a theatre, etc.); (P)

Lol, I see. My problem was not 伺う=to visit, but "to call on sb."="to visit". Thanks for teaching me some English :-).

En la nederlanda oni diras "Dit gaat mijn petje te boven" (Tio superas mian kaskedeton = Tio superas mian cerbon = Tio superas mian komprenpovon.) :-)
