  1. Frage: Funktioniert die automatische E-Mail-Benachrichtigung wieder? War ein paar Tage weg. Danke für info.
  2. If I add a translation I would expect my sentence to show up with the sentence I translated but it does not. Instead my sentence is added as a new sentence and the one I translated shows up with it. Even though the protocol says there is a connection from my new sentence to the translated one and vice versa. Do I make a mistake? Do I have to approve each sentence?
    • What is it that you do exactly ? I don't understand what you mean by "to show up with".

      If you translate a sentence that is on top of the pile (by clicking on the translation button while the sentence you want to translate is on the top), then your translation becomes linked to the sentence you translated with a green link (direct translation) and is then visible as being attached to it...
    • Der Satz den du gerade übersetzt hast bleibt auf der obersten Position der Liste. (Das ist von Vorteil, wenn man einen Satz nacheinander in mehr als eine Sprache übersetzt.)
      Ich weiß nicht, ob damit deine Frage schon beantwortet ist. Leider habe ich nicht verstanden, was mit "to show up with" gemeint ist.
    • Vielleicht kommt das Problem dadurch zustande, daß Du in Deinem Profil eingestellt hast, daß Dir nur hebräische, französische, englische und türkische Sätze angezeigt werden. Du solltest wenigstens noch Deutsch (deu) hinzufügen; sonst werden Dir nämlich keine deutschen Übersetzungen angezeigt.
      • Danke für den Hinweis. Das wird es sein. Ich hab mich sehr gewundert, daß meine Sätze nicht mehr zu sehen waren, wenn ich den übersetzten Satz erneut angesehen habe. Darüber gestolpert bin ich durch die Verwendung der Zurück-Funktion.
  3. Hola, soy argentino y quisiera saber si se usa el voseo o si hay que escribir en español neutro como vengo haciendo hasta ahora...

      Aunque la bandera es española, en Tatoeba se aceptan todas las variedades del español. Tenemos otros usuarios de Argentina que solo usan el voseo en sus traducciones:

      A veces usamos las etiquetas si una expresión es muy regional:

        • Todavía no podés, pero si querés poner una tag en alguna oración, podés dejar un comentario para que alguien te la ponga.

        • Si aparte del voseo quieres clasificar otras frases puedes usar listas.

          Encima de cada frase hay una barra con iconos, para traducir, guardar en favoritos, etc tambien hay uno para crear listas. Puedes crear y llenar listas y tener las frases ordenadas si en un futuro quieres añadir etiquetas a esa las frases de esas listas.

    • I love the "visual code" idea. Metadata resources would be a huge quality leap in our beloved sentences.
      • If you're talking about how in the image the word "power" was highlighted in each language, I agree, that would be awesome.
        • Yes, but not only that... metadata would allow us to classify words (e.g. noun, adjective, verb, etc) and add hyperlinks between two sentences. In any case, it would probably improve our search engine.

          Sometimes it's not easy to tell if "power" is a verb or a noun, especially for non native speakers. There's just too much we could do with metadata...
          • OK, "power" is not a good example at all. In fact, I was thinking of the French verb "pouvoir", which can also be a noun.

        Before we add a new language, we want first to have at least some sentences in that language. So basically, you need to find some sentences to translate into Algerian Arabic. You will not be able to indicate that your sentences are in Algerian Arabic, because the language is not added yet, but you can set the language as "unknown".

        Then to make things easier for us, we're asking you to put the sentences in a list. You will have to create a list from here: http://tatoeba.org/eng/sentences_lists/index (in the right side column). Then you can add your sentences to the list by clicking on the icon http://flags.tatoeba.org/img/add_to_list.png.
