There is a bug in the Tatoeba's interface. When I look at the page "Languages of members" I see how many members have set Russian as their language. https://tatoeba.org/eng/users/for_language/rus
When I switch this page into Russian, I see a different statistic. https://tatoeba.org/rus/users/for_language/rus

I'm just curious, but what do you see then? I changed my language to Russian and English and they both show the same number: 102.

Although Russian seems to be OK this time, look at some other languages like Japanese. To see this I should not only open the page but also change the language to Russian at the top menu.

I can see the problem when viewing the number of Japanese speakers in Russian, when the number of members is 101. The problem comes from the translation of the site into Russian. The string between parenthesis is a so-called plural string, which means it has different translations giving the number (of members). The original English string is "{total} member" when {total} equals 1 or "{total} members" otherwise. The translation may have different variations too, depending on the language and {total}. Russian have more complex plural rules, in which 101 is a different case than 102, and the 101 case translation is wrong.

The problematic string can be fixed here (giving you have an account on Transifex and have been accepted in the Russian translators team): https://www.transifex.com/proje...ource/42114924

Follow this guide to translate on Transifex: http://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/arti...ce-translation and see especially the “Plural strings” section.

You can test how the translation renders by waiting a few minutes and going to http://dev.tatoeba.org/.

Thank you for feedback. I just wanted to report while being curious about the reason. I tried to translate Tatoeba's interface when it was on Launchpad but nobody accepted my translation and I lost my interest. Anyway, the problem is not so serious.
