Oh, too be honest, I didn't really though about that :/
Do you think I should delete it?
I'm gonna play it safe, and just delete it :)
how do i delete it? :)
Well, copyright law was definitely not designed to protect short sentences like this. I can think of no situation in which the Mario copyright owners could successfully sue anybody for using a single sentence or translating it.
Copyright law has specific purposes and this is not covered by any of them.
As long as we don't import longer texts sentence by sentence, I see no real problem.
On the other hand, while copyright law was not designed to protect short sentences, there is also no rule that exempts them. It's one of those cases nobody spend a thought on when designing the rules.
The question is: do we want to be pragmatic and 99.999% sure not to be sued or do we want to be strict and 100% sure not to be sued at the cost of leaving out many sentences. (I'm pretty sure that the 'princess in another castle' sentence is one of those sentences whose translation into many languages interests a much bigger audience than the 100th variation of the sentence "Judy speaks French and English" ;-) )
