That's a slightly different matter, and much less problematic.
It doesn't really resolve this as it won't provide any way of unambiguously indicating that "leo" translates to the "rEEd" version and "leí" translates to the "rEd" version of "read"
An interesting side-effect of recording audio...
I've just started using this site actively again: translating, linking and now also recording audio.
However, it strikes me that when I record the audio I can't help but disambiguate the sense of a sentence somewhat.
For example:
In its textual form, "I want to go." translates into Spanish as both "Quiero irme." and "Yo quiero irme."
But if I say it, I have a choice between saying it in a neutral tone of voice, in which case it only matches "quiero irme", or placing emphasis on "I", in which case it only strictly matches "yo quiero irme".
I'm not really sure what (if anything) can be done about this.
I think what Marcelostockle means to say is that it would be helpful to update your profile to say which languages you speak, both as a learner and natively.
Welcome to Tatoeba, anyway, and I hope you find it useful.
Certainly not, but if a sentence is taken from a book, you shouldn't change it at all -- you should only be changing the links between it and other sentences.
If I mistranslated a line from a Zola novel from French into English, you wouldn't want to change the original to match the translation, would you?
Thanks. It might be worth setting up an auto-response, just so we know you've recieved it. I was starting to get a bit paranoid about mistyping, spam filters etc...
Remember that the first goal of Tatoeba is to be a bank of correct sentences, and that no translation is ever 100% correct and unambiguous.
Speaking of which, I sent a request to team@tatoeba.fr requesting advance user status almost a week ago, but I haven't had any confirmation of receipt. I was hoping to start tying my sentences to multiple languages soon.
