I received your message and of course you didn't get an answer. I am an admin here but this is a hobby. I'm not 24/7 here, which means that if you send me a message at 7 a.m. you shouldn't expect me to answer the same day before I even got out of work.

I checked this user's sentences and many are fine, it's not like he had only added swearwords and offensives sentences. So you'll have to be more precise about which ones you consider offensive.

Hi Igider,

Rafik was the person who complained to us and mentioned the sentences with audio, that is why he was informed about the fact that these Kabyle sentences that already had audio remained Kabyle, it's not that we went to inform him as leader of the Kabyle project. I myself do not know how your project is run or whether there is a particular leader or people just expose their complaints directly to us like the contributors of any other language.

If someone or even all the other Spanish speakers wanted to change their sentences to another language I admit I would wonder, but it would be their decision after all and I would respect it, since it is their work and their sentences we are talking about. If I had reasons to ask for such a change of my own sentences I would also not feel compelled to tell the other Spanish speakers about it, but again we might be dealing with a different way of leadership since your Kabyle project seems to have some kind of hierarchy that the other languages lack.

About not insulting Islam and Algeria but exposing facts... you added these sentences, which I would consider closer to personal opinions than proven facts:

#8111667 The Algerian Arabs are happy when the Kabyle are killed by their Arab-Islamist army.

#8111685 The minority of Kabyle who support the criminal and corrupt Algerian state are Islamist Kabyle.

#10698511 Les islamistes algériens, tout comme le pouvoir algérien dictatorial, soutiennent Poutine mais préfèrent vivre en Occident.

#8126416 Muslims who are tolerant are no longer Muslims because they no longer apply the precepts of Islam that are liberticidal.

#9635667 The majority of Muslims are ready to kill anyone who criticizes Islam which is not a religion but a dangerous sect. Don't we say that "religion is a successful sect"?

And I know there are other users who also add offensive sentences, more than you do. But complaining about them when you also write offensive sentences is kind of shocking.

Happy new year to you all!

To the best of my knowledge, Talwit requested the change from Kabyle to Berber of all of his sentences, except the sentences with audio, which were unadopted and left as Kabyle and later on adopted by some of your people (as owner of the sentences, Talwit is the only one whose opinion is relevant in that matter. If there have been threats we have no knowledge about it). Rafik was informed about this process.

About the near-duplicates, if they're added as different translations of a sentence it's fine for me because people learn other words to say the same thing or different meanings of a sentence, which can be useful in some situations. If they're added with different names of streets, cities, people, I find it useless. And it doesn't matter what language we are talking about, actually most people who are against the use of Tatoeba to create that GPS system are also against the use of only the name Tom or Boston or the repetition of the very same sentence with different cities or people.

About the attacks in the sentences, I admit I'm surprised you bring up that topic, if I remember correctly you also added several offensive sentences against Islam and Algeria, which can still be found in the corpus. But as Alan said, it's not an easy matter to take care of.

And that of the flag, I think you also remember that after a long research the decision of changing the Kabyle flag was taken, and, as I don't think the circumstances that led to that decision have changed, I wouldn't expect that flag to come back.

You click on the "#" or on the sentence number and go to the sentence page. There you see all the translations including the one in the language you want.

"show translations in: none" should do the trick. You only get the sentences translated into Romanian, you just don't see the translations. If you want to see the translation you open the sentence.

+1
it's not that common to use that on its own, I would add some descriptive attribute like "the man wearing green glasses" or "the woman sitting next to the door".

I don't like having always the same name over and over again, and it doesn't matter if the name is Ziri, Ali, Layla, Mary, Sami or Tom, so I tend to avoid them unless they're sentences in a language I don't have enough knowledge to be able to choose or the sentence is particularly interesting.

But given that they will be creating near duplicates anyway, I would welcome it if at least the last letter of the new name was a different one from the previous widespread names (in some languages first names are also declined and the declension depends on the last letter). Also, the name Ziri is kind of confusing because, not being such a famous name, it's not so obvious it is a male name.

I just saw there's the option to "create a search template" in the advanced search, maybe that could help? I admit I didn't even know it existed so I can't be of much help. If someone has experience with it or knows how it works I'd be interested to know, too.

If you go to "translations -> limit to sentences in: Romanian, Link: direct" it should work as you want it to.

I liked the idea, getting the possibility of not showing the ratings made by non native speakers or by determined users would be quite useful for me because most of the wrongly rated Spanish sentences are by inactive non native speakers and it's always the same people ^^' The rest (that of asking for a determined number of "OK"s or "not OK"s), given that not many people use the rating system and most sentences only have one rating at most, is not so relevant. Another option that would also be useful for me would be to put the name of the user and the rating in the search page

By the way and just for the record, I'm interested in this feature for correcting purposes, I wouldn't search for only rated sentences if I wanted to translate stuff.

Oh well that's not how I understood what you told me here:

>To remove a sentence from the list without modifying it (and prevent it from being put back in the next update), someone who is not the owner must add an "OK" (+1) review to compensate for each "not OK" (-1) review.

I thought it was supposed not to appear in any list. Otherwise the sentence is still to be taken with caution or it appears as OK with as many OK as "not OK" ratings, which would be misleading.

I just found this sentence

https://tatoeba.org/es/sentences/show/1281578

It has an OK and a "not OK" rating, I thought then it wouldn't appear in any list, but it's in the "not sure" list... Is it supposed to work like that? The sentence itself is fine, it was rated as not ok because of a wrong translation that was already unlinked.

I just checked a few samples of what kind of sentences landed there, and there are three kinds: the sentences that are wrong, the sentences that are correct but that don't match (completely) their translation and the sentences that are correct but have been misjudged by some non native speaker. So my question is:
Would it be possible to manually remove sentences from the list because, despite having been rated as "not OK", they are actually OK?

By the way, how did this sentence land in the list if the outdated ratings are not taken into account? https://tatoeba.org/es/sentences/show/853351

Bienvenido :)

Aquí están las instrucciones para añadir una lengua:
https://en.wiki.tatoeba.org/art...guage-request#

Como no sé si entiendes el inglés, te explico: necesitamos que la lengua tenga un código ISO 639-3 (supongo que en tu caso estamos hablando de la lengua con el código aao https://iso639-3.sil.org/code/aao). En caso de que así sea, necesitamos que crees una lista con cuantas más oraciones mejor en esta lengua y elijas una bandera para la lengua. Después, cuando ya lo hayas hecho, envía un correo electrónico a language-team@tatoeba.org con toda esta información.

I would like to add one question: there are languages that are very close to each other, for example, I've never studied Ladino or Asturiano but I can understand >90% of the sentences in these languages because they're very close to Spanish. Would they count as languages I don't know at all or would it be OK to link them? (I generally only link between the sentences indicated in my profile and Spanish but sometimes I'm tempted to link sentences in these two languages with their translations in more studied languages so that they get more visibility).

Mi experiencia con esas clases inclusivas ha sido realmente desastrosa. Cuando vine a Alemania estábamos personas de diferentes niveles en la misma clase y las profesoras dedicaban la mayor parte del tiempo a uno de los niveles, ignorando a los otros. En esa clase la verdad es que yo, que estaba en el nivel más avanzado, no aprendí absolutamente nada.

That is a beautiful idea, I did what I could although I don't know how helpful it will be because I don't think many will come to Spain.

I started translating his longest untranslated sentences instead. Many of them show his way of seeing the world.

I met him in 2010 and we'd been friends ever since... He was a good person, always wanting to help and to learn new things... I had wondered why he didn't answer to my messages... now I know...

Rest in peace my friend.
