At a concert, to be late has only 2 possible variants that do not entail the same consequences:
Either you are simply "late", and you can watch the concert, either you are "too late" and you're not granted admission or the concert is over.
Your translation doesn't seem clear to me: the English sentence states the first alternative and your German translation states the other. They do not match...
