Can someone tag this with @NNC?
I think this is fine, at least grammatically, but take my word with a grain of salt.
If you're in doubt, a way to check is to look up the phrase in question to see if other people naturally use it.

A few days ago, I read this:
"If you want to add a sentence but are not sure whether it is correct, mark it with a tag and/or a comment"
and now whenever I'm writing sentences in English, I tend to add such comments. But yeah, maybe I should distinguish between translating simple sentences like this one and translating more complex ones like those containing idioms or those that are very long.
I'd even think which language I find easiest to write in depends on the topic I'm writing about. But a simple sentence like this one I could probably say in 7ish languages. (And now I'm pondering how to translate "7ish languages" into the other languages, I think I got it in four or five or so.)
> "If you want to add a sentence but are not sure whether it is correct, mark it with a tag and/or a comment"
And that’s sound advice. Better safe than sorry 😄
I sometimes make the mistake of overestimating my ability in any language and I write something wonky (sometimes even with “simple” sentences), so I’ve basically defaulted to not trusting myself anymore :p
The good thing is that we have many native speakers here eager to help, and I’m grateful to them all
Also I know you’re good at English, but if you want to talk to me in Spanish please feel free, even if I respond in English I understand you well, and I need to make myself practice more often with actual conversation ^^
I hadn't even thought of "I speaked" when I translated this one into English, and it also seems like "speaked" is pretty unlikely to get said by native speakers, unless they're trying to sound non-native.
I doubt "speaked" needs to appear in any sentences on Tatoeba, since Tatoeba seems to try and have "correct/native" text, rather than also having a set of counterexamples of how not to write. Not that I'm against the creation of such a set, I think I know people who would have a use for such a thing, but I'm kinda guessing a simple list or tag probably wouldn't be good enough as it would cause the sentences with known/intentional mistakes to show up when people look for examples of how to write "correctly".
I used “I speaked” as an example of the types of posts you’d find when checking an expression on Google, showing you it wouldn’t be a good one to use, as opposed to “I spoke” which IS correct, and is shown in many natural posts.
