Nope, this is a formal way for a request "to you".

Here are some examples which mean "I'd like you to do something". (Probably there are other better expressions in English.)
こちらの書類に目を通していただきたいのですが。
この商品について説明していただきたいのですけど。
この問題について詳しく教えていただきたいのですが。
ただいま混んでおりますので、一時間後ぐらいにもう一度来ていただいてもよろしいですか。

They don't imply "for me". Maybe you assumed that it is "させていただく".
こちらで働かせていただきたいのですが。
ぜひ私にやらせていただきたい。
ここでもう少し待たせていただいてもよろしいですか。
検査を受けさせていただきたい。
These examples mean "I'd like to do something".
