I just noticed the 平たん -> 平ら change in 2013, which sadly removed the only example for 平坦/平たん. I'm now monitoring all changes to sentence pairs used as JE examples.

It’s just because 「平坦」is inappropriate in this context. Most native speakers would agree with this.

I realise that; my point is that such changes stuff up the dictionary example applications using the sentences. These apps were running before the sentences were added to Tatoeba, so I need to track changes and make adjustments. In this case I've added another sentence using 平坦.
