Does this sentence mean "I showed them what it means to be able/capable"?
More or less, yes, and it conveys as an implication the message of the English sentence. The literal translation (Показах им разликата във способностите) is rather unnatural.
But then again, I might have misinterpreted the original sentence. Would you care to explain its meaning?
I believe the English sentence is referring to a comparison of the abilities of two or more people. For instance, one might wish to demonstrate that one football player is more skilled than another: "I showed them the difference of ability by playing videos in which A is clearly a much better football player than B."
Thank you! I'll unlink this bg sentence. There is a better translation, though I won't be able to avoid adding some extra specificity (like "their skills").
