
It should be "In the late summer and autumn *you can see the leaves change colour."
I thinks it's marked "British English" because they use "autumn" instead of "fall".
In Canada we say both "autumn" and "fall" so the sentence doesn't sound particularly British. We also spell 'colour' with 'ou'.

I agree that it would need a subject. This seems fine, now.
