Another possibility, though less likely, and a worse match for the Hebrew and Russian, would be:
I got soaked boating downriver.
But that wouldn't match the Hebrew
川下り mean going downstream.
Perhaps the Hebrew and Russian need to be unlinked.
"...boating downriver" makes me think that the speaker wants to point out that they weren't boating upriver, while "boating down the river" seems to be more about answering the question "How did you get so wet?"
