Isn't this a その type problem?
(as you alluded to in one of your recent wall posts, where "the" gets turned into その(or この)and then back into "this".
I don't think so. It's a translation error. Either an E->J error (in which case the Japanese should use 田舎) or a J->E error (in which case the English should use "this country").
