Why did you add not true sentence?
Why did you add this insulting sentence?

I didn't write it. It is neither true nor false without context. Is it insulting? To whom? Why?

I'm not sure the intention was to insult, you know... unless you have extra information about some context...

A sentence you don't know if it's true about Tom or anyone else but you easily add this untrue and insulting sentence.

It's irrelevant if the sentence is insulting (and anyway I don't think it is). We are collecting examples of what people might say in life. This is such a thing. (If the sentence were some person's full name, like "Jon Anderson" or whatever, I could see the objection.)
It seems like Yalin is unhappy because "gay" and "bisexual" are used in a sentence. Why that is bothersome I don't know. Sorry, Yalin, but that's life. People say these words, and you can't stop it. I won't un-adopt or change a sentence just because you don't like those two words. :-)

Is that double standards I hear? Sentences about "burning American flag" have been deleted on occasion because some people didn't like that phrase.

I agree with Ooneykcall. Tatoeba is full of double standarts. That's why we have a lof of sentences like #3459609 and nobody cares while the sentences about American flag were deleted immediately.

I agree with Ooneykcall and odexed too.

Yalin your message was prevented because you wrote something about orcrist. Actually we can't make the sentences about contributors of this site. The name "Tom" doesn't really refer to any real person here.

(Probably we should advocate not using names in such sentences, but instead pronouns and such, like 'he' or 'that guy', since I imagine it would make sense for a Tom (or Mary, if the sentence is about her) to be pissed since those sentences are really good material for jokes at their expense.)

> Tatoeba is full of double standarts
+1.

Double standards or not, there's no reason to attack me for adopting the sentence. I haven't ever censored anyone on this site, nor can I. If you want to complain about hypocrisy, real or imagined, you're in the wrong place.
The other thing is that assuming the sentence is insulting is itself discrimination. Sexual orientation is real enough, and talking about it is perfectly reasonable. The sentence is a neutral descriptive sentence, unless you feel that being homosexual or bisexual is a bad thing.

You speak as if you couldn't care less about whatever double standards exist on Tatoeba and only care about sentences submitted by you. Very nice.
That said, we three never said there is anything wrong with this sentence, so it is wrong (and potentially insulting) of you to assume we think that only because the guy who posted first thought that. :(

I agree the sentence is not insulting at all, but the deleted sentences like 'You've ruined my life, Charles' weren't insulting either.

I really think we shouldn't keep discussing about this. Yalin is clearly a troll/spammer and for any reasonable person this a well constructed neutral sentence.

Yalin is, most likely, boracasli.

@Ooneykcall Your first comment opened, "Is that double standards I hear?". It came across as you accusing me of having double standards, since nobody else had said much of substance at that point. Given your later comments, I see that you had different intentions. Anyway, I'm done with this. Trolls are a waste of time. :-)

Alright, sorry for not having beel clearer. It's not you I've been accusing of double standards, but Tatoebian practice in general. Most properly that should've been taken to the Wall, but it would've made such a mess, and hardly anything would change because we are a stubborn kind.
