It's grammatically correct, and it makes reasonable sense; but it's a little clumsy, and it's rather a strange thing to say.

I checked Jim Breen's online dictionary, and "pet loss" means "emotional effect on pet owners from losing their pet".

I'm not sure that this expresses exactly the sense of the Japanese, but here goes:

In order to live happily and healthily with parakeets or parrots, you should understand the science of animal behavior for domesticated birds, and consider the emotional effect of losing them eventually.
