chastized -> chastised (?)

Google Translate translates the Japanese as follows, which is more natural:

The reason you didn't wake up just now was because you wanted me to punish you, right?

Is it a good translation?

>Is it a good translation?
Ah, it's interesting. At first, I thought No, but this translation could be good too.

The Japanese word "起きる - okiru" has several meanings: for example "wake up", "get up", "stand up", and so on. In this case, my first association was that "get up" would be a better match, but depending on the context (situation), I think "wake up" would also be good. (When a woman says naughty jokes to her boyfriend who doesn't wake up easily.)

"折檻 - sekkan" has the image of "a parent scolding a child who has done something wrong while slapping the child's buttocks like this link (https://www.ac-illust.com/main/...?id=2321003)," but in this Japanese sentence, I also associate it with
bullying, harassment, or a sexual scene as sadomasochism (https://pixta.jp/illustration/70872826, https://pixta.jp/illustration/70919904).
So it looks like it could stay as "chastise" from what I see in the dictionary.

However, I think this Japanese translation was done playfully by a high school student in the Tanaka corpus. She/he didn't wake up easily and said to her/his boyfriend, "You wanted me to punish you, right?" or something like that.
Both seem to be good to me.

By the way, I think it's amazing that I can imagine so much in this one sentence. However, I'm not the student who translated, so I don't know if that is true or not and it's a shame that I can't ask them.

Maybe it's the case that this has more than one correct interpretation then?

I think both interpretations could be covered by the Google Translate option, and DeepL gives a very similar reading:

The reason you didn't wake up earlier was because you wanted me to punish you, wasn't it?

Thanks, both of you!

Was your difficulty in getting up back then also because you wanted to be chastized I wonder?
