This isn't a sentence. It appears to be a long noun phrase.

At least for the English and Japanese, we could easily update this to.

.... です。
It's ....

Thanks for the comment, but coherent noun phrases are fine (as I have said many, many times). I wish someone would update the guidelines. This is the kind of text you get on a museum display, and is a perfectly natural example of language use.

Sorry ... no desire to step on your toes. I just saw "sentence" everywhere and thought it meant no noun phrases. :-(

The whole set of four entries could be modified to be sentences. "Coherent noun phrases are fine" means that the exact same phrases with "it is" are identically fine. The fact that it could be displayed in a museum does not bring much to the discussion since "Knife" or "Indian hat" are also displayed in museums.

Hi.

The guidelines state: "At any rate, don't bother starting endless discussions if the sentence has already been translated because it will be kept as is. Feel free however to add a new sentence based on the "non-sentence"."

https://blog.tatoeba.org/2010/0...f-content.html

So, please end this discussion and don't restart it (on this or any other example).

Thank you.
