This isn't really a sentence.
The fact that all words are capitalized
makes it look like a song title or something.
Also, if it is meant to be a sentence,
it is not natural English.
I don't think anyone would say that.

Maybe it's the song by The Magnetic Filds? ;)

Okay, the cosmos has suddenly lined up very strangely.
As I was reading your message, Terry Gross simultaneously
introduced a music review of The Magnetic Fields on the radio.
Irre!

And just yesterday I put their album on my itunes . Crazy, isn't it?

@Pharamp.

It's the title of a TV series - so it can have capitals.

Oki! And what about the translations?

Dorenda Dorenda June 3, 2010 June 3, 2010 at 5:13:32 PM UTC link Permalink

I guess translations should follow the rules/customs for capitalisation of the language of the translation. For example, in Dutch probably only the first letter of the title would be a capital letter.

(This conversation made me smile ^^)

So what? If they have translations, and _particularly_ if they have established translations (e.g. the TV series has been on air in more than one language) I see absolutely nothing wrong with having them.

> Is this the kind of thing you really want in the database?

Not something I particularly want (I wouldn't dump a list of series titles) but for this particular case, since the title also makes a sentence, I don't mind keeping it here.

Guybrush: I think that as a moderator, you should try to make your changes as transparent as possible. Especially, when dealing that a language that is not your native language. I try to never change a sentence without first tagging it "@change", adding a comment and then waiting for the required period of time (I think it's two weeks). It's also OK if another user has made a comment proposing the correction and the owner has not responded in time. That gives the owner of the sentence the time to respond and also gives the opportunity to other contributors to do so.

The sentence will then show up here: http://tatoeba.org/eng/tags/for...rs/@change/eng (depending on the language)

CMs are not supposed to modify sentences on their own without giving an opportunity to the owner of the sentence to make the modification himself or respond to the proposed correction.

Sometimes, exceptions may be made, but I think that should be the normal procedure. Anyway, I'm not trying to target you, I'm sure you were just trying to be helpful.
