I don't think it french :)
which language it is ?

I was trying to add swahili then saw it's not listed on Tatoeba. Now I don't know how to delete it?

oh no problem at, at the opposite if your language is not listed and you want to contribute in swahili, we will be really glad to add support for it, are you a native?
to add your language we need to know if there's a specific flag that all swahili speaker will recognize as their flag, not necessary a country flag
and we also need you to add 5~10 sentences in it, to be sure it will be relevant to add it :)
(it seems to me that sprachprofi has already added the "i love you" in swahili some month ago, but no more, so maybe we can hope to have this new language in tatoeba thanks to you :)

(oh i've checked on wikipedia, wikipedia exist in swahili, but they also talked about kiswahili, can tell me a bit more about it :) now i've read a few i'm eager to learn more about it ^^)

I am not a native but I think I could add 5-10 sentences using native sources to get the ball rolling.
Swahili is spoken across East Africa but is native to Zanzibar (now a part of the Tanzanian union). I think it would be uncontroversial to use the Tanzanian flag as it is generally recognized to exist in a purer form there.
And 'Kiswahili' is 'Swahili' in Swahili. (hope that makes sense!)

ok no problem no then, but juste one important thinks, don't take the sentences from books or even wikipedia, it's due to the free licence we used, but if it comes from people who are ok to have sentences added
i know it's a bit annoying, but the law is the law :(
(see point 9 of http://blog.tatoeba.org/2010/02...n-tatoeba.html )
so I'm waiting for the 5/10 sentences :D (if would even greater if it can translation of already existing sentences, such as you already done :)

for kiswahili , swahili,
according to SIL swahili is a macro language and kiswahili the main language of this group (in fact it's a bit confuse, if i understand well you swahili is both used to indicate the macro language and the individual one, hmmm linguistic is a bit confusing sometimes ...)

No problem, I get the copyright issues. I went through the basic sentences list and translated some easy ones. Am I able to add them, or should I just post them here? I will certainly be able to do more in time, and hopefully Tatoeba will attract other Swahili afficionados
What - nini
Don't forget about us! - Hutusahau!
Je ne sais pas - Sijui
Bonne question - Swali nzuri
Do you remember? - Unakumbuka?
Take a taxi to [the] hotel - Kwenda kwa teksi hotelini
Don't forget to send the letter - Usisahau kupeleka barua
Now I remember - Sasa ninakumbuka
I have a question - Nina swali
I love you - Nakupenda

You can add them directly :) when swahili will be officialy supported, you will just need to click on the flag to set it to swahili one (btw, it's the way to change a language when the system auto detect badly )

swahili has been added :) feel free to contribute:)

Hello, add sound to the words in Tatoeba is very complicated, it's for that only few of them have it :-(((( Why don't you simplify this procedure? Thanks
