I'm not sure about the existing English translation of this sentence:

He was well built, if not fat as such.

For one thing, the Russian is in the present tense. For another, Он крупного телосложения means something more like "He's got a big build", rather than "He's well-built." ("Well-built" is more like хорошо сложенный.) And finally, I wonder whether полный would be better translated as "chubby" ("tending towards being fat") rather than "fat".

Google Translate gives this:

He is of a large physique, to say the least.

+ Я бы сказала "если не сказать полный" или лучше "если не сказать толстый". Это же должно быть нечто большее, чем просто "крупного телосложения", а слово "полный" слишком мягкое.
