Ok, you linked this to the Turkish, so I'm assuming you know what the Turkish says. Can you help me, because I can't figure it out.

As far as I can tell, it reads "it/this is not suitable for sleeping", with:

Burası = it/this
yatman = sleeping (if there's a verbal-noun and a possessive, where is it?)
için = for
uygun = appropriate
değil = not

> yatman = sleeping (if there's a verbal-noun and
> a possessive, where is it?)
yat = verbal stem of yatmak ‘to lie’
me/ma = suffix of gerund
[i/ı/u/ü]n = possisive suffix (2nd person, singular)

Turkish seems to have merged phonemes n and ng.

Yea, but where does it say anything about a room?

Demetrius Demetrius August 29, 2010 August 29, 2010 at 12:38:24 AM UTC link Permalink

Nowhere. Do you think it's too loose?

(Do you think our Turkish translator have interpreted 'room' as 'space' ;) and it 'burası' be replaced by sth like 'bu oda'?)

(My Turkish book is at school... I'll try to look tomorrow :-)

Yea, I don't know. It probably is too loose, but at least I know that he didn't use Google Translate (which gives "This is not appropriate for lay." :-)

I bet you we could write him a good message with all the phrases in that video.

Starting with "Merhaba..."

Right now my internet connection is not so good to download video. :o
